Where parents and children grow together...
Our school was established in 1941 as a cooperative,
non-profit, non-secretarian nursery school. The school is fully-accredited
by the New York State Department of Education. Classes are offered
for children ranging in ages from 2 through 5.
The school is located on 2 1/2 acres of wooded
property which is set back from the main street. We are easily accessible
to families living in Greenlawn, Centerport, Huntington, South Huntington,
Elwood and Commack. As well as Northport and East Northport. We
encourage and assist parents in setting up car pool arrangements
when possible.
All of our staff, which is comprised of a paid
Director and teachers are certified, caring individuals who understand
know how to guide pre-school children. Classes are divided into
3yr olds and 4yr olds, each with its own teacher, teacher assistant
and participating parent. There is a maximum class size of 13-14
for the 3yr olds and 17-18 for 4yr olds.
What is a cooperative?
A cooperative school means parents taking an active role in their
child's nursery school experience. To that end, parents are required
to give a reasonable share of time by participating in the classroom
once or twice a month, serving on a committee, helping with our
annual fund raiser and helping to maintain our facilities.
